05/18/2015 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.
05/18/2015 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-13(a) ACCUMULATION OF VEGETATION PROHIBITED. Each owner, lessee, tenant, resident or occupant shall maintain a property so it is free of the accumulation or untended growth of vegetation. The accumulation or untended growth of vegetation means the presence of plants on property that create a fire, safety or health hazard, or that attract vermin either on the property, on neighboring properties, or on both, and includes but is not limited to: (1) Any lawn grass that exceeds 6 inches in height; (2) All weeds that exceed 6 inches in height; (3) Dead trees and dead shrubs; (4) Dead palm fronds within ten feet of the ground, a structure, a fence or wall, or of any combustible other than the tree from which the fronds have grown; (5) Any tree, shrub, or other form of vegetation of any kind on the property or on the adjoining right-of-way, street, or alley that extends over or under the sidewalk space or roadway in a manner that may interfere with the reasonable use of the street, sidewalk, or alley for pedestrian or vehicular traffic of any kind or that may obstruct the view or light distribution of traffic-control devices or luminaries. Vegetation must be trimmed and maintained to provide an unobstructed pedestrian path a minimum 48 inches in width and 80 inches in height from grade.

05/17/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT VIDAL Approved Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arived and the fire was out and the investigators were checking for the cause. The fire started on the exterior of the building on a couch and trash and debris that was piled on the rear of the property. The fire started the wood frame storage room and the metal frame storage room that were added to the rear of the building. The fire did not get into the main structure. The main electrical system was all damaged in the fire and will have to be replaced. The pull out at the pole have been pulled or popped out during the fire. The gas meter had already been removed before the fire. The water was not on to the property. The property is vacant and has signs of people staying inside the building. Has areas where different people staying inside and doing drugs. Not able to make contact with the owner at this time and called Arcaiden Industries to have the building secured. Had to have the front door secured where the plywood was cut to gain entry into the structure. The rear had one opening where not blocked off and another security door opened where pinned shut. The rear of the structure has wood prime coat siding and has burned or is loose where checking for fire. All was boarded up to prevent entry into the storage rooms. Did do posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front and rear of the building. While going to do the posting of Notice to Vacate the owner of the building showed to the property. He did sign the paper work and went over what needs to be done to clean the property. The rear storage rooms will be removed by this week coming and the owner had already has a permit approved to remove the structures. The owner will check if another permit needs to be issued or re-open the old permit. Did go over on keeping the property cleaned. The owner will remove the storage rooms and is going to try and sell the building. Will check in 10 days. RV.
12/08/2015 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE PUMPHREY Approved Refuse removed; owner still working with insurance to repair damged portion of building.
