05/09/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, UPON ARRIVAL FOUND TFD HAD ALREADY CLEARED THE SCENCE. CHECKED MAIN SERVICE PANEL TO UNIT #12 AND FOUND ELECTRIC HAD BEEN TURNED OFF AT THE MAIN SERVICE PANEL BY TFD. MET WITH MANAGER MARIA FLORES WHO INFORMED ME THAT TENANTS WOULD BE STAYING WITH TENANT'S PARENT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND IMPERIAL SQUARE WOULD THEN HAVE A DIFFERENT APARTMENT FOR THEM. MET WTH TOM AND ANGELA WHO ALSO HAD THE SAME STORY AND IN THE PORCESS OF REMOVING IMPORTANT ITEMS. SPOKE WITH ANGELA WHO STATED SHE WAS COOKING ON THE STOVE, LEFT AND CAME BACK AND FOUND FLAMES FROM THE PAN OF GREASE, THE STOVE VENT AND CABINETS HAD ALREADY COUGHT FIRE, NEIGHBOR HAD CALLED TFD. INSPECTION FINDINDS FOLLOW: DIVIDING WALLS BETWEEN UNITS ARE BLOCK WALLS AND KEPT FIRE CONTAINED TO UNIT #12. >FIRE DID START IN THE KITCHEN AREA. >FOUND DRYWALL ON THE CEILING APPROX 100 SQ FT PARTIALLY REMOVED FROM THE CEILING EXPOSING ELECTRICAL, RAFTERS AND INSULATION, RAFTERS AND INSULATION RECIEVED NO FIRE DAMAGE. >EAST WALL RECEIVED FIRE DAMAGE AND DRYWALL PARTIALLY REMOVED EXPOSING A DBL 2X4 PLUMBING WALL , FIRE DAMAGE TO THE STUDS AND LEAVING PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL EXPOSED ALONG WITH WATER MAIN TO THE ABOVE UNIT. POSSIBLE HEAT DAMAGE. ELECTRICAL ALSO FIRE DAMAGED. NORTH KITCHEN WALL ALSO FIRE DAMAGED, ELECTRICAL EXPOSED. > WIRING, OUTLETS, SWITCHES AND FIXTURES FIRE DAMGED IN THE KITCHEN. >LIVINGROOM RECIEVED VERY HEAVY SMOKE DAMAGE, BATHROOM AND BEDROOM RECEIVED MINOR SMOKE DAMAGE. > DUCTWORK HAD ALOT OF SOOT HANGING OUT OF ALL REGISTERS. > ELECTRIC TO REMAIN OFF. EMERGENCY VACATE NOTIVE ISSUED. OWNER TO BOARD THE UNIT AND INDEMNIFICATION NOTICE AND ORDER ISSUED. NOV ISSUED FOR THE FIRE DAMAGE. ALL PAPER SIGNED FOR BY THE MANAGER MARIA FLORES.
07/31/2015 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE GOODMAN Approved UNIT REMAINS VACANT AND SECURED. BURNED PORTIONS IN THE KITCHEN AND APPLIANCES HAVE BEEN REMOVED. PERMIT REMAINS IN APPLIED STATUS. E. STEVENS ALSO HAS A DIFFERENT BURNED UNIT. WORK IS BEING DONE ON THAT UNIT, MAY BE WAITING UNIT #23 IS COMPLETE BEFORE STARTING #12. WILL FOLLOW UP ON 9/16/2015
