03/18/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT COX Approved Fire was contained to the enclosure for the fireplace. Fire officials determined the fire was caused by a neighbor who was burining weeds and embers blew in with the wind igniting the sole plate of the wall framing. The fire did not extend into the residence and damage was largely limited to the wooden framework and exterior plaster for the enclosure. There was one electrical wire involved which supplied energy for the fan motor in the firebox. The main service panel was shut off at the main breaker and the occupant was directed to contact an electrical contractor to isolate the circuit in order to energize the panel again. I explained a permit would be required for restoration and advised the owner to contact their insurance carrier ASAP to get that process in motion. Will F/U in 30 days.
