08/07/2014 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GGOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH OWNER MARTHA WHO EXPLAINED HER SON FOUND A PLUMBING LEAK COMING OFF THE CITY WATER METER ON THE HOMEOWNERS SIDE. MARTHA MENTIONED SHE IS RETIRED AND HAS TO WAIT UNTIL SHE GETS HER SS CHECK ON AUG 20TH. HER SON IN THE MEAN TIME PUT A TEMPORARY PATCH ON THE OWNERS SIDE OF THE VALVE USING A HOSE BIB AND A HOSE TO THE HOUSE ENTRANCE. ** SPOKE WITH RICHARD VIDAL AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND EXPLAINED HOW THE OWNER WAS NOW GETTING WATER. RICHARD EXPLAINED IT WAS A TYPICAL WAY TO BYPASS THE BROKEN WATER LINE SO THAT THE OWNER STILL HAS WATER AND CITY WATER STILL HAS IT'S WATER READING. RICHARD VIDAL ALSO STATED THE PATCH WOULD NOT REQUIRE A PERMIT. ALL INFORMATION WAS PASSED ON TO THE OWNER. NO VIOLATION / CLOSE CASE.
