| 06/29/2014 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | VIDAL | Approved | Received a call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the main house was OK but had a fire at a workshop that was added detached from the house. The fire started in the rear of the shop and burned into the shop. Wood fencing was burned with a gate to the desert area. The fencing had wiring along the top rail not in conduit and was for the pool pump and the sprinkler system for the rear yard. The wiring will need to be replaced and install properly for protection. The rear of the workshop was damaged to the wood studs and the wood siding burning the overhang off. The owner was going to secure the workshop and the property can be secured with locking the gates. The power was removed at this time due to the SE. lines had 3-phase and the outer coating has melted off and exposed the wiring on all the conductors. The replacement was scheduled for night time. The conductors will require a different type of POA due to was tied to the fly rafter and was not secured to the structure. T.E.P. gave the owner paperwork on what needs to be done to have the conductors secured properly. Due to have 3-phase this needs to be secured as soon as possible. The interior of the workshop has drywall that was pulled down on the ceiling and walls to check for fire. The rear wall was removed more than half way. The owner signed the paperwork of the indemnification and the N.O.V. The owner removed the wiring to the breaker for the workshop while the power was off to not allow power to the shop until the repairs have been completed. No posting of "Do Not Enter" due to the owner will have the area secured with the locking of the gates to the property. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
