11/10/2013 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GGOODMAN Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD INSVESTIGATORS AT UNIT #206, FOUND UNIT WAS GUTTED BY FIRE AND INVESTIGATORS WERE STILL INSIDE THE UNIT. MET WITH S/W GAS, ONLY THE LAUNDRY ROOM WAS FOUND TO HAVE GAS. THERE WERE NO LEAKS TO THE GAS APPLIANCES AND LINE TEST ALSO SHOWED NO LEAKS. NO GAS TO THE UNITS. MET WITH MANAGER PAULA DRAKE TO DETERMINE WHAT ELECTRICITY HAD BEEN TURNED OFF. I WALKED ALL UNITS ON THE SOUTH PORTION OF THE COMPLEX TO DETERMINE WHO HAD POWER THEN WENT TO THE MAIN SEVICE PANEL TO VERIFY WHO HAD BEEN TURNED OFF. CHECKED UNITS FOR FIRE OR WATER DAMAGE AND PROCEEDED TO TURN ELECTRIC BACK ON TO ALL UNITS I FELT WERE SAFE. ALL UNITS WERE INDIVIDUALLY METERED, UNITS 106, 206, AND 207 REMAINED OFF. UNIT #206 WAS WERE THE FIRE ORIGINATED AND UNIT WAS COMPLETELY GUTTED BY FIRE. IT APPEARED THE FIRE STARTED AT THE LIVINGROOM BASEBOARD HEATER WHICH BURNED THRU THE FLOOR DECKING AFFECTING THE CEILING IN UNIT #106. DRYWALL WAS REMOVED FROM UNIT 106 WEST PARTING WALL WHICH AFFECTED THE ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING IN UNIT 207. THERE WAS ALSO SUBSTANTIAL WATER DAMAGE IN UNIT 106. EAVES AND DECKS WERE ALSO DAMAGED BY THE FIRE. FIRE RAN THRU THE EAVES IN FRONT OF UNIT 203 DOWN TO 208 AND DAMAGE TO THE DECK IN FRONT OF 206 & 207. RED CROSS WAS CALLED BY TFD AND I WORKED WITH MANAGER PAULA DRAKE TO DETERMINE WHO NEEDED TO BE HOUSED. TENANTS IN 106 & 206 REQUIRED HOUSING. QUALITY RESTORATION WAS CONTACTED TO SECURE UNITS 106 & 107, EMERGENCY NOVS WERE ISSUED FOR 106,107,207 AND EAVES AND DECKS. ALL WATER REMAINED ON. SPOKE WITH MARTIN ROMERO ABUT KEEPING THE CASE DUE TO OPEN AREA. MARTIN ASKED I KEEP IT.
02/25/2014 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE GGOODMAN Approved FOLLOW UP INSPECTION AT THE PROPERTY FOUND ALL ISSUES HAD BEEN ABATED UNDER PERMITS FOR EACH UNIT. UPON ARRIVAL SPOKE WITH BOTH THE MANAGER AND THEN THE CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED THEIR FINAL INSPECTION. WILL CONTACT GERARDO BONILLAS AT DSD FOR CLARRIFICATION. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
