10/21/2013 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | RVIDAL | Approved | Received a call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a hotel fire. Arrived and the units were checking for hot spots in the unit. All the units have been evacuated and were waiting for a clearance to re-enter the units or rooms. The power has been removed from the south building with the middle building and the north building has been restored with power back on. The fire was in room 112 with smoke going into room 212 above the unit. The renters were allowed into there rooms to remove items out of the south building and the middle building to go to a room on the north side of the building. The fire investigators were on site looking for the cause and were waiting for the carbon monixide levels to drop to enter the unit. The breakers were looked at and not able to find the breakers marked for the areas that needed to be removed of power and was going to leave off until an electrical contractor checks the panels and identify the breakers that needs to remain off until the repairs have been completed to have the power turned back on once the repairs are done. Once the breakers are marked to be kept off the other breakers can be turned back on to the other rooms to rent out. All the renters have been placed on the side where the power was still on and will get their items at sunlight to move to where they are staying. The manager gave permission to have the window boarded up and was able to lock the door. The renter did come into the room to look for items if she could keep. Did take out a dog kennel and the dog food and the clothing on top was destroyed. The manager did take the renters purse to her to check if anything could be saved. Bathcrest called to the site to have the window boarded up. The water line was still leaking and was off at the backflow device and Spartan plumbing was called to the site to make the repair. The pipe was cut to install angle stops on the hot and cold water lines by the tub. Once the angle stops were installed the water was turned back on with a trickle. Did check with a few people to check if the water was back on and they all said yes. The renter from 212 did meet with Red Cross and was given assistanced. The posting of "Do Not Enter" was posted on the board up of the window. Took pictures and the night clerk signed all the paper work for the manager. explained that the 4-units can not be rented out until they have been inspected once the repairs have been made. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
