09/25/2013 | T.C. Ch. 3, Sec. 3-65: PORTABLE SIGN REGULATIONS. Permits are required for all A-frame and portable signs. Decals must be displayed. The A-frame or portable sign when placed in an open position must not exceed a height of thirty (30) inches from ground level to the top of the sign and be no more than thirty (30) inches wide. Maximum of one sign per business is permitted and they must be removed from the street at the close of business. The A-frame or portable sign is not permitted in the public right-of-way except where a temporary revocable easement has been granted for their placement. The A-frame or portable sign is prohibited from any form of illumination, animation, movement and miscellaneous attachments including balloons, ribbons, speakers, etc. The sign code administrator may immediately remove, without prior notice, any A-frame or portable sign illegally placed in the right of way or site visibility triangle, or that for any reason presents an immediate hazard. |

Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe. |
