04/24/2013 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | RVIDAL | Approved | Received a call from communication and T.F.D. on site with car through building. Arrived and a truck in the garage hit the south wall which was a bearing wall. Southwest Gas was on site due to the gas meter has been hit and the riser was bent. The gas was off and the field crew was coming to remove the gas line to the property. The wall was off the foundation and not able to push back. The wood framing has wood shearing through out and helping supporting the wall. The tenant was not able to call someone to support the wall and gave permission to call the City contractor to have supports installed. Bathcrest came and installed 4 x 4's to help support the rafters. Did let the tenant know that this is only to give time for the insurance to come and look at the damage. They may add supports or change where supported in order to make the repairs. The gas line was cut near the sidewalk and capped until the repairs are completed. The gas line for the house was in the wall and was hit by the vehicle and pushed out. The gas line once repaired will require a pressure test on the line and inspected by Planning and Development Services Department before the gas can be turned back on by Southwest Gas. Permits will be required for the framing, drywall, stucco, plumbing, electrical and the drain line for the T.P.R. for the water heater needs to be checked also in the wall that was pushed out. The tenant signed all the paper work and will be calling the owner in the morning to let know of the damage. Once Southwest Gas completed the capping of the gas line caution tape place around the area to block the area frm being entered from the sidewalk area. The tenant closed the garage door and advised that no one come into the area. Will check in 10 days. RV. |
