12/22/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT RVIDAL Approved Recieved a call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and the Fire was out and was waiting to check if the tenant could remain in the unit. The kitchen had a fire on the stove and burned the microwave in the cabinets. The cabinets over the stove have been burned by the fire and has heavy smoke damaged in the kitchen going into the living room. The other rooms have light smoke damage through out. The electrical meter has been turned off by T.E.P. due to the damage by the fire. The fire was contained to the kitchen area and the electrical wiring by the microwave need to be checked for heat damage or damaged by the fire. Did meet with the management and let them know that the tenant will not be able to stay in the unit and repairs will need permits. The complex had no rooms to stay in and was going to a freinds house for the night. The management will look for another unit to move the tenant until the repairs can be done and completed to move back in. The management signed all the paper work and secured the unit. The tenant was advised that in order to enter the unit that they would have to let the management know that they want to enter the unit. Will check in 10 days. RV.

01/08/2013 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.
