12/20/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT RVIDAL Approved Received a call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and all the units have left the site. The owner came from a neighbors house and found where a breaker was being installed in the main service panel and shorted out. The fire went through out the buse bar and all the wiring in the box has smoke and some heat damage. The meter base is next to the box and feeder wiring needs to be checked. Let the owner know that a electrical contractor needs to do the work and a permit required for correction and the re-connect to have the power turned back on. The rear of the house has a new porch being added and a room attached with metal studs. Asked the owner if permits have been issued and he stated no. Let him know that permits will be required also for the new work added and has enclosed an existing porch and enclosed the carport in the front of the house. The owner signed the paper work and was going to stay with the inlaws. Will give to the area inspector. Will check in 30 days. RV.
