04/11/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT DCOX Approved This is a very large suburban property approximately 1.5 acres in size. I could see the top or the cab of an OTR truck approximately 250-300 feet from the street on the west side of the main dwelling in the rear yard. Aerial photos from 2010 show an automobile carrier which would attach to the OTR cab as a trailer. Topographically, the street is much lower than the area where the truck is parked making it scantly visible and the trailer is not visible at all. The property is zoned RX1 which prohibits parking the truck and trailer. NOV w/ 30 day comp. period.
07/09/2012 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE DCOX Approved Upon re-inspection I discovered that the complainant is referring to typical passenger trucks which pull trailers that are capable of carrying automobiles. I observed two Dodge trucks parked in the street in front of this residence which were connected to the aforementioned trailer types. The trailers were empty and not carrying any payload. These types vehicles are not prohibited from parking on private residential property or traveling to and from such properties. The semi tractor previously noted in the initial inspection is not presenting a blight issue and is far enough back on the property that it is scantly visible from the street. The trailer in the rear yard is not visible from the street and thereby acceptable as well. The complainant may be referred to TPD or Parkwise to a determination as to the permisibility of operating such vehicles on residential streets. Case closed.
