01/11/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT GGOODMAN Approved EMERGENCY CALL/ TFD REQUEST FOR INSPECTOR: VISITED SITE, MET WITH COMPLEX MAINTANENCE PERSON PATRICK PATEE WHO TOOK ME TWO AFFECTED UNITS. FIRST WENT TO #2706 WHERE THE PROBLEM STARTED. IT WAS NOT A BROKEN WATER LINE BUT A BROKEN WATER HOSE FROM THE WASHER TO THE WATER SUPPLY BOX. FOUND THERE WAS ALSO A DRAIN IN THE FLOOR OF WASHER DRYER ROOM AND APPEARED WATER WAS SHOOTING UP. PATRICK HAD ALREADY REPAIRED BOTH SUPPLY LINES, AND HAD "CLEAN AMERICA" WATER RESTORATION EXTRACTING THE WATER. PATRICK HAD ALREADY OFFERED TENANTS ANOTHER UNIT TO STAY AT THEY DECLINED. PATRICK ALSO HAD BLOWERS READY TO PLACE IN UNIT ONCE WATER EXTRACTION WAS COMPLETE. I CHECKED THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS, ALL OUTLETS WERE DRY AND ALSO CHECKED THE DRYWALL BUT FOUND NO PROBLEM. PATRICK HAD ALL AREA COVERED. TENANTS WOULD BE GOING TO WORK SOON ALLOWING UNITS FLOORING TO DRY. ** CHECKED UNIT BELOW #1046, PATRICK HAD SHUT OFF THE POWER TO THE UNIT AT THE INTERIOR SUB-PANEL , AND REMOVED LIGHT AND FAN COVER IN THE BATHROOM AND HALL. DID FIND WATER HAD RUN THRU THOSE FIXTURES. CHECKED OULETS AND SWITCH FOUND NO WATER IN THOSE FIXTURE. TENANTS WERE ALREADY SET UP IN THE CORPORATE UNIT #106. PATRICK MENTIONED THEY WOULD EXTRACT WATER IN THAT UNIT, ALLOW UNIT TO DRY OUT AND MOVE THEM BACK IN WHEN APPROPRIATE, PROBABLY 24 HRS. MAINTANENCE PERSON PATRICK PATEE HAD THE SITUATION WELL UNDER CONTROL BY THE TIME I ARRIVED, TENANTS FELT SAFE WITH THE DECISIONS HE HAD MADE. THE ONLY REMAINING PROBLEM WAS THE WATER IN THE UNITS AND THAT WORK WAS ALREADY IN PROGRESS. NOV IS NOT REQUIRED DUE TO WORK IN PROGRESS / CLOSE CASE.
