Description:
Machinery on roof of G & L Imports on east end of building, (presumably HVAC or refrigeration) has become excessively noisy. There is no cover on the units, just bare machinery exposed. The noise from the machinery fills my property most of the time. Does the code require such machinery to have a cover and/or to have some sort of noise barrier? TPD referred me to your department. Can an inspector determine if there is or is not any violation of any code for covering building machinery for noise intrusion into the neighborhood? I know the city went to great lengths to protect the El Con neighborhood from noise intrusion when big box stores moved in.
