05/25/2010 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. _____ Remove the slide bolt from the kitchen and main entrance egress doors, as bolt lock of any kind are not permitted (The kitchen door may be turned into a thumb turn lock if you choose) 1027.5 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises' electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, illumination shall be automatically provided from an emergency system for the following occupancies where such occupancies require two or more means of egress: all Emergency lighting shall be functional and properly maintained in conjunction with IFC section 1027. _____ Fix, repair, or replace the emergency lighting unit(s) in order to meet code standards. _____ Add additional lighting units to create a safer path of egress above egress doors as your current exit signs do not have internal backup power. 1028.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency when the areas served by such exits are occupied. 1028.3 Obstructions.
