12/29/2009 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 603.5.2 Heating appliance installation and maintenance. Heating appliances shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, the International Building Code, the International Mechanical Code, the International Fuel Gas Code and the ICC Electrical Code. 3807.3 Clearance to combustibles. Weeds, grass, brush, trash and other combustible materials shall be kept a minimum of 10 feet (3048 mm) from LP-gas tanks or containers. _____ Remove the gas fueled heaters from your patio section or remove the over head canopy. Electrical heating devices shall be approved.
12/29/2009 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 904.11.6.3 Cleaning. Hoods, grease-removal devices, fans, ducts and other appurtenances shall be cleaned at intervals necessary to prevent the accumulation of grease. Cleanings shall be recorded, and records shall state the extent, time and date of cleaning. Such records shall be maintained on the premises. _____ The hood system in your building has been found unfit and requires a cleaning. You are to have your hood system cleaned immediately and provide the proper paper work to prove that the required cleaning has been done professionally. 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. _____ Service and tag your hood exstinguishing system. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. ______ Properly hang all portable fire extinguishers according to code. 12/29/2009 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1008.1.8.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists… -- 2. In buildings in occupancy Group A having an occupant load of 300 or less, Groups B, F, M and S, and in places of religious worship, the main exterior door or doors are permitted to be equipped with key-operated locking devices from the egress side provided: -- 2.1. The locking device is readily distinguishable as locked, -- 2.2. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background, -- 2.3. The use of the key-operated locking device is revokable by the fire code official for due cause. _____ Place the wording "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED" visibly above your main egress door. 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. _____ Remove the double-key lock and replace with an approved locking device such as, thumb turn lock or panic hardware. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency when the areas served by such exits are occupied. 1028.3 Obstructions. A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use. _____ Remove all obstructions hindering the use, the path, or the activity of the egress door and be sure to always maintain a clear and obstruction free path to your west side exit and east patio exit. _____ Fix the inoperable north patio exit discharge.
