Whenever or wherever any device, equipment, system, condition, arrangement, level of protection, or any other feature is required for compliance with the provisions of this code, or otherwise installed, such device, equipment, system, condition, arrangement, level of protection, or other feature shall thereafter be continuously maintained in accordance with this code... _____ Exit Sign Illumination TFC 605.5 - Extension cords Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. _____ Remove extension cord that extends through back wall ceiling or replace with permanent wring. _____ Provide approved power strip (equipped with overcurrent protection) for "OPEN" sign or provide permanent wiring TFC 605.6 - Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. _____ Provide "blank" to cover opening in circuit breaker box. TFC 901.6 - Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. _____ Extinguishers shall be inspected by occupant monthly and professionally serviced annually. A tag shall be affixed to the extinguisher with records of these activities. _____ Provide cover plate for box containing system activation cable behind stove. TFC 904.11.6.4 - Extinguishing system service. Automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be serviced at least every 6 months and after activation of the system. Inspection shall be by qualified individuals, and a certificate of inspection shall be forwarded to the fire code official upon completion. _____ Have hood extinguishing system professionally serviced and provide a copy of the report. TFC 904.11.7 - Separation All deep-fat fryers shall be installed with at least a 16 inch space between the fryer and surface flames of adjacent cooking appliances. Exception: 1. Where a steel or tempered glass baffle plate is installed at a minimum 8 inches in height between the fryer and surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance, the requirement for a 16 inch space shall not apply. Where the fryer and the surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance are at different horizontal planes, the minimum height of 8 inches shall be measured from the higher of the two. _____ Provide required separation or baffle plate between fryer and stove. TFC 1008.1.9 - Panic and fire exit hardware.
