10/13/2009 INSP - FULL DGREENLE Violation Please correct the following violations of the Tucson Fire Code: TFC 407.2 - Material Safety Data Sheets Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials shall be readily available on the premises. _____ Provide MSDS and training in the use of all hazardous materials TFC 2703.5 - Hazard identification signs. Unless otherwise exempted by the fire code official, visible hazard identification signs as specified in NFPA 704 for the specific material contained shall be placed on stationary containers and above-ground tanks and at entrances to locations where hazardous materials are stored, dispensed, used or handled in quantities requiring a permit and at specific entrances and locations designated by the fire code official. _____ Label all tanks and containers of flammable/combustible liquids and all other hazardous materials. Chapter 906, Portable Fire Extinguishers TFC 906.2 - General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. (Professional maintenance yearly, manual inspection monthly, affix a tag to the extinguisher with records of these activities.) _____ Extinguishers shall be inspected by occupant monthly and professionally serviced annually. A tag shall be affixed to the extinguisher with records of these activities. TFC 906.7 - Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. 906.9 Height above floor. Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding 40 shall be installed so that its top is not more than 5 feet above the floor. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight exceeding 40 pounds shall be installed so that its top is not more than 3.5 feet above the floor. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of installed hand-held extinguishers shall not be less than 4 inches. _____ Mount extinguishers in an approved manner Blocked electrical panel: TFC 605.3 - Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches in width, 36 inches in depth and 78 inches in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. _____ Clear area around electrical panels TFC 2211.2.3.1 - Disposal of liquids. Crankcase drainings and liquids shall not be dumped into sewers, streams or on the ground, but shall be stored in approved tanks or containers in accordance with Chapter 34 until removed from the premises. _____ Keep containers of flammable/combustible liquids closed when not in use. TFC 2211.2.1 - Cleaning of parts. Cleaning of parts shall be conducted in listed and approved parts-cleaning machines in accordance with Chapter 34. _____ Replace fusible link/cover release in accordance with UL listing and manufacturer's operating instructions
