Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. 906.9 Height above floor. Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding 40 shall be installed so that its top is not more than 5 feet above the floor. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight exceeding 40 pounds shall be installed so that its top is not more than 3.5 feet above the floor. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of installed hand-held extinguishers shall not be less than 4 inches. _____ Mount extinguishers in an approved manner. TFC 105.6.16 - Flammable and combustible liquids. An operational permit is required: 3. To store, handle or use Class II, Class IIIA or Class IIIB liquids in excess of 25 gallons in a building or in excess of 60 gallons outside a building... _____ Obtain permits for all above-ground storage tanks (AST)'s (Prior to permit inspection, tanks shall comply with NFPA 30, be equipped with both atmospheric and emergency vents and be labeled with contents… applicant shall provide a drawing showing location and contents of tanks) TFC 2703.5.1 Markings. Individual containers, cartons or packages shall be conspicuously marked or labeled in an approved manner. _____ "Corrosives" (battery storage) _____ "Used Oil" tank _____ "New Oil" tank _____ "Anti-Freeze" tank 3003.5.3 - Securing compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks. Compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks shall be secured to prevent falling caused by contact, vibration or seismic activity. Securing of compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks shall be by one of the following methods: 1. Securing containers, cylinders and tanks to a fixed object with one or more restraints. 2. Securing containers, cylinders and tanks on a cart or other mobile device designed for the movement of compressed gas containers, cylinders or tanks. 3. Nesting of compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks at container filling or servicing facilities or in seller's warehouses not accessible to the public. Nesting shall be allowed provided the nested containers, cylinders or tanks, if dislodged, do not obstruct the required means of egress. 4. Securing of compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks to or within a rack, framework, cabinet or similar assembly designed for such use. Exception: Compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks in the process of examination, filling, transport or servicing. _____ Secure all compressed gas tanks in an approved manner. |
