09/16/2009 INSP - FULL DGREENLE Violation Certificate of Occupancy: POSTED M/S-1 OL:142 Extinguishers Serviced and Tagged (2/09) Please correct the following violations of the Tucson Fire Code: TFC 903.3.1.1 - NFPA 13 Sprinkler Systems Where the provisions of this code require that a building or portion thereof be equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system in accordance with this section, sprinklers shall be installed throughout in accordance with NFPA 13… _____ Provide required compliment and variety of spare sprinkler heads in accordance with NFPA 13 (particularly "pendant" type). _____ Provide specialized, dedicated head wrench to remain located in spare head box per NFPA 13. TFC 903.5 - Testing and maintenance. Sprinkler systems shall be tested and maintained in accordance with Section 901. _____ Annual system inspection is due 10/09/09. _____ 5-year check valve service is due. TFC 901.6.2 - Records. Records of all system inspections, tests and maintenance required by the referenced standards shall be maintained on the premises for a minimum of three years and shall be copied to the fire code official upon request. TFC 1006.1 - Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. Provide emergency lighting that is activated by loss of power to building: _____ Basement near North electrical panels _____ Main stairway _____ South exit stairway EXIT SIGNS 1011.1 Where required. Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in a corridor is more than 100 feet or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign. Exceptions: 1. Exit signs are not required in rooms or areas that require only one exit or exit access. 2. Main exterior exit doors or gates that are obviously and clearly identifiable as exits need not have exit signs where approved by the fire code official. TFC 1011.2 - Illumination.
