07/30/2009 INSP - FULL NSPRENGE Violation The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). 1.__Problem: You have an open barrel of waste antifreeze with no sceondary containment. TFC 2705.2.1.4 Secondary containment for hazardous material liquids. Where required by Table 2705.2.1.4, buildings, rooms or areas where hazardous material liquids are dispensed or used in open systems shall be provided with secondary containment CORRECTION: YOU WILL HAVE ALL BARRELS, CONTAINERS, ETC IN OPEN USE OR STORING USED LIQUIDS PROVIDED WITH SECONDARY CONTAINMENT. ( 1 DRUM OF USED ANTIFREEZE) 2.__Problem: There are extension cords in use as permanent wiring TFC 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. CORRECTION: YOU WILL REMOVE ALL EXTENSION CORDS USED TO POWER PERMANENT EQUIPMENT. ( CAMERA SECURITY, COMPUTER IN PARTS AREA) 3.__Problem:There is an discharged extinguisher on the ground near the East side rolling doors. TFC 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. TFC 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. CORRECTION: YOU HAVE YOUR EXTINGUISHER SERVICED BY A PROFESSIONAL, TAGGED, AND HUNG ON THE PROPER BRACKETS. 4.__Problem: There is cumbustible rubbish behind the dryer. TFC 315.2.3 Equipment rooms. Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms or electrical equipment rooms. CORRECTION: YOU WILL CLEAN BEHIND THE DRYER. 5.__Problem: Your MSDS does not have a current index of materials being used on site. TFC 407.2 Material Safety Data Sheets. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials shall be readily available on the premises. CORRECTION: YOU WILL UPDATE YOUR MSDS AND PROVIDE AN INDEX OF MATERIALS CONTAINED WITHIN. 6.__Problem: There is no Certificate of Occupancy posted on site. TFC 105.3.5 Posting the permit. Issued permits shall be kept on the premises designated therein at all times and shall be readily available for inspection by the fire code official. CORRECTION: YOU WILL CONTACT CITY OF TUCSON DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY. THIS WILL BE POSTED ON SITE FOR THE FIRE INSPECTOR TO SEE.
