Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). PRODUCE BACK ROOM 1.__Problem: There is a loose face plate on the wall. TFC 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. CORRECTION: You will replace/repair loose outlet faceplate. 2.__Problem: Your backup power is not lighting your exit sign ( SE hallway exit near restrooms and pharmacy) TFC 1011.4 Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. CORRECTION: You will cause your exit sign to light. MEAT HOLDING AREA 3. __PROBLEM: There are several corroded sprinkler heads. TFC 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code. CORRECTION: You will have your sprinkler company replace corroded heads and provide paperwork to the fire inspector. MEAT DEPT. 4.__Problem: There are several missing Eschusian Plates. TFC 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code. CORRECTION: You will have your sprinkler company replace/repair all missing and damaged eschusian plates to your sprinkler heads. Provide paperwork to the fire inspector. 5.__Problem: You have two fire extinguishers overdue for inspection and one of them is on the floor and not mounted on the wall. TFC 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. TFC 906.2 General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. CORRECTION: You will have your extinguishers serviced, tagged, and mounted to the wall. 6.__Problem:Your sprinkler heads are dirty and dusty. TFC 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code. CORRECTION: You will have your heads cleaned by your spinkler company. 7.__Problem:There is an open circuit box on the ceiling. TFC 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. CORRECTION: You will place a cover over the open circuit. FROZEN FOOD FREEZER 8.__Problem: There is an open light socket. TFC 605.1 Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. CORRECTION: You will have the light socket repaired by a professional electrician. BACK ROOM 9.__Problem: There is an open socket/light switch. TFC 605.6 Unapproved Conditions. CORRECTION: You will have a licensed electrician replace the light switch. 10.__Problem: There is an extension cord attached to an unapproved 3 prong adapter, powering a battery charger that is charging large equipment. This is truly hazardous because the cord and adapter are not large enough to carry the load required for this set up. In addition, extension cords are the number one cause of fires in businesses and are not allowed as a source of permanent wiring. TFC 605.1 Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. TFC 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. CORRECTION: You will remove the extension cord from use and remove the cube adapter. BREAK ROOM 11.__ Problem: There is an open outlet on the wall. TFC 605.6 Unapproved Conditions. CORRECTION: You will provide a faceplate for the outlet. CATWALK 12.__Problem: There is open wiring with no caps and the J box needs a faceplate. TFC 605.6 Unapproved Conditions. CORRECTION: You will have wires capped and place in appropriate J box with a cover. 13.__Problem: The aisles are blocked with seasonal displays. TFC 1014.4.1 Aisles. Nonpublic aisles serving less than 50 people must be no less than 28 inches wide at all times. CORRECTION: Maintain the aisles no less than 28 inches. 14.__Problem: There is combustible trash near your ventilation duct work and near electrical devices. TFC 304.1 Waste accumulation prohibited. Combustible waste material creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in buildings or structures or upon premises. CORRECTION: You will remove all combustible trash in this area. MACHINE ROOM 15.__ Problem: There are many combustible woods/cardboard boxes/ and papers stored in your machine room. TFC 315.2.3 Equipment rooms. Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms or electrical equipment rooms. CORRECTION: You will remove these materials from storage in your mechanical room. ELECTRIC ROOM 16.__Problem: There is a missing door handle on one of the entrance/exits from this room. TFC 1008.1.8.2 Hardware height. Door handles, pulls, latches, locks and other operating devices shall be installed... CORRECTION: You will replace the missing door handle. 17.__Problem: Your fire door is being blocked in the open position. 703.2.3 Door operation. Swinging fire doors shall close from the full-open position and latch automatically. CORRECTION: You will remove the door stop and allow the fire door to swing into the closed position. RECEIVING OFFICE 18.__ Problem: Your sprinkler coverage is blocked by a partial make shift ceiling. TFC 903.3.3 Obstructed locations. Automatic sprinklers shall be installed with due regard to obstructions that will delay activation or obstruct the water distribution pattern. Automatic sprinklers shall be nstalled in or under covered kiosks, displays, booths, concession stands, or equipment that exceeds 4 feet (1219 mm) in width. Not less than a 3-foot (914 mm) clearance shall be maintained between automatic sprinklers and the top of piles of combustible fibers. CORRECTION: You will remove the items blocking coverage to your receiving office. BAKERY 19.__ Problem: You are missing an eschusian plate. TFC 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code. CORRECTION: You will have your sprinkler company replace the missing eschusian plate. 20.__Problem: Your electric panels are blocked with storage racks. TFC 605.3 Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. CORRECTION: You will maintain the required clearance around your electric panels. 21.__Problem: There are combustibles stored around your hot water heater's pilot light. TFC 315.2 Storage in buildings. Storage of combustible materials in buildings shall be orderly. Storage shall be separated from heaters or heating devices by distance or shielding so that ignition cannot occur. CORRECTION: You will remove all combustibles from around the hot water heater. 22.__Problem: There is a dirty sprinkler head in the frozen storage area of the bakery. TFC 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code. CORRECTION: You will have your sprinkler company clean this sprinkler head. 23.__Problem: There is an extinguisher that is not mounted or tested. TFC 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. TFC 906.2 General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. CORRECTION: You will have your extiguisher serviced, tagged, and mounted on the wall. 24.__Problem: Initial Hood System Complaint that power to equipment did not shut down and make up air did not shut down. TFC 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. CORRECTION: You will have your sprinkler/hood system company make the necessary repairs to bring your hood system into compliance. FMC OFFICE 25.__ Problem: There are two extinguishers that are not mounted on the wall and are on the floor. TFC 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. CORRECTION: You will have your extinguishers mounted on the wall.
