| 07/01/2009 | INSP - FULL | EGRIFFIN | Violation | On 6-30-09, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 6223 South Palo Verde Road, in Tucson, Arizona. A City of Tucson Certificate of Occupancy would be required. The following Tucson Fire Code Violation(s) was noted: 1). currently this building does not meet fire code requirements for premises identification. IFC 2006 (modified) states: Section 505.1 Address numbers. Address numbers shall be in accordance with Pima County address display requirements. (Enclosed) 2).Automatic fire sprinkler test and inspection form must be submitted by approved contractor as per required in NFPA 25. ,IFC 901.6. All required deficiencies must be corrected. 3). Emergency generator log must be submitted as per fire code requirements which state; 604.3.2 Written record. Written records of the inspection, testing and maintenance of emergency and standby power systems shall include the date of service, name of the servicing technician, a summary of conditions noted and a detailed description of any conditions requiring correction and what corrective action was taken. Such records shall be kept on the premises served by the emergency or standby power system and be available for inspection by the fire code official. 4). Fire alarm test report shall be submitted on approved form as per NFPA 72/ IFC 901.6 5). Currently no evidence of construction or installation permits can be found in Tucson Fire Department permit data base and paper files for the Nitrogen tank installed on this property. Permits are required for installation. IFC 2701.3.3 6). Remove crates of empty explosive shells in hall way. Exit obstruction. IFC 1028.3 7). Label of explosives 1.4 is on file cabinet door, used missiles shells (armed of not), is still unknown to this inspector, and are in hallway and in adjacent room. This practice would be required to be reviewed at Certificate of occupancy plans examination. I invite you to contact Dave Mann or Martin Brown 837-7029 in regards to explosive storage and office occupation. 8). Flush bolts are installed in Lab and Holt chamber lab. This is in violations of fire code requirements which state; 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. 9). Storage of corrosives, flammable liquids, and other non compatible must be separated. Immediately. IFC 2701. 10).remove sprinkler obstruction in Halt lab. Wood on top of fencing is obstruction sprinkler flow.903.3. |
