05/15/2009 INSP - FULL NSPRENGE Violation The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). 1.__Problem: Use of multiplug adapter cords. TFC 605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC Electrical Code shall be prohibited. CORRECTION: You will remove the adpater cords in use in the Manicure room and replace with fused power strips with surge protection. 2.__Problem: Found extension cords used as permanent wiring. TFC 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. CORRECTION: You will remove the extension cords connected to the stereo in the stock room, on main floor behind towel warmer, and whereever else in use. 3.__Problem: The last tagged inspection date on your fire extinguisher is May of 2007. TFC 906.2 General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. They shall be inspected yearly. CORRECTION: You will have your fire extinguishers serviced by a qualified professional or company.
