Storage shall be separated from heaters or heating devices so that ignition cannot occur. ______ Maintain a 3ft seperation from your gas water heater to any combustable materials as this can cause accidental ignition of fire.
12/19/2008 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 603.5.2 Heating appliance installation and maintenance. Heating appliances shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, the International Building Code, the International Mechanical Code, the International Fuel Gas Code and the ICC Electrical Code. _____ Repair your gas water heaters ventilation system to prevent the release of toxic gas and to avoid allowing the release of heat into the ceiling void spaces as this can become a fire hazard. 605.5 Extension cords Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. _____ All extension cords shall be removed and/or replace with approved fused power strips.
12/19/2008 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1011.5.3 Power source. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. To ensure continued illumination for the duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator. The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Section 2702 of the International Building Code _____ Fix, repair, and/or replace all exit signs in order to meet code standards (KITCHEN) 1027.5 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises' electrical supply.
