Rooms containing controls for air-conditioning systems, sprinkler risers and valves, or other fire detection, suppression or control elements shall be identified for the use of the fire department. Approved signs required to identify fire protection equipment and equipment location, shall be constructed of durable materials, permanently installed and readily visible. _____1.Post a sign on the exterior side of the northwest door stating "RISER ROOM INSIDE". _____2.Post a sign above the riser room door inside the shop stating "RISER ROOM".
08/20/2008 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JBURGE Correction Required TFC 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. _____1.All electrical wiring below 8 feet in height shall be protected by approved electrical conduit.

Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. _____1.Remove the green extension cord located next to the saw in the West workshop. _____2.Remove the extension cords used in the owner's office. NOTE:Replace the extension cord with a fused multi plug adapter.
08/20/2008 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JBURGE Correction Required TFC 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. _____1.Service and tag all portable fire extinguishers. _____2.Service and tag the automatic sprinkler system or provide documentation of the current inspection.

Automatic sprinklers shall be installed with due regard to obstructions that will delay activation or obstruct the water distribution pattern. Automatic sprinklers shall be installed in or under covered kiosks, displays, booths, concession stands, or equipment that exceeds 4 feet (1219 mm) in width. _____1.Remove the top of the portable spray booth when storing it inside the building. _____2.Additional sprinkler heads shall be installed under the storage shelfing located in the northeast workshop for proper sprinkler system coverage. NOTE:If the shelfing is removed additional sprinkler heads are not required. _____3.The signs being stored near the ceiling shall be separated from each other so the proper sprinkler system coverage will be maintained.
