07/17/2008 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. _____ Properly secure the electrical outlet to the wall 605.3 Working space and clearance A working space of not less than 30 inches in width, 36 inches in depth, and 78 inches in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. Where the service equipment is wider than 30 inches, working space shall be no less than the width of the equipment. No storage of any kind shall be located within the designated working space. _____ Maintain proper working space around all electrical panels according to code.
07/17/2008 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. 906.6 Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. 07/17/2008 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1008.1.8.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation. _____ The front main entrance door secondary locking device shall be disabled or replaced to meet code standards. I.E. the lock shall release when twisted from the interior side. 1008.1.8.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists… -- 2. In buildings in occupancy Group A having an occupant load of 300 or less, Groups B, F, M and S, and in places of religious worship, the main exterior door or doors are permitted to be equipped with key-operated locking devices from the egress side provided: -- 2.1. The locking device is readily distinguishable as locked, -- 2.2. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background, -- 2.3. The use of the key-operated locking device is revokable by the fire code official for due cause. _____ Place the wording "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED" above your main egress door. 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. _____ The back egress door shall have its slide bar system removed.
