07/01/2008 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 605.4 Multiplug adapters Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC electrical code shall be prohibited. _____ The multi-plug adapters loacted in the X-ray room shall be removed and/or replace with approved fused power strips. 605.6 Unapproved conditions Open junction boxes and open wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and outlet covers. _____ Place the proper cover over the outlet located in the x-ray room.
07/01/2008 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. 906.6 Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. 07/01/2008 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. _____ Remove/replace the double key lock on the west main door with a thumb turn lock. 1008.1.8.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation. _____ Remove either the panic hardware or the thumb turn lock, as only one locking device is allowed. 1011.5.3 Power source. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. To ensure continued illumination for a duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator. The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Section 2702 of the International Building Code _____ Fix, repair, and bring all exit signs into code compliance 1027.5 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises' electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, illumination shall be automatically provided from an emergency system for the following occupancies where such occupancies require two or more means of egress: all Emergency lighting shall be functional and properly maintained in conjunction with IFC section 1027. _____ Repair all emergency lighting units and bring them up to code 1021.2 Width. The width of exit passageways shall be determined as specified in Section 1005.1 but such width shall not be less than 44 inches (1118 mm), except that exit passageways serving an occupant load of less than 50 shall not be less than 36 inches (914 mm) in width. The required width of exit passageways shall be unobstructed. 1028.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency when the areas served by such exits are occupied. _____ The files and filing Cabinets shall be moved as not to narrow the required egress way. 1028.3 Obstructions.
