VIOL - PRECAUTION AGAINST FIRE None Not Inspected
02/12/2008 INSP - FULL EGRIFFIN Violation A complaint was filed with the Tucson Fire Department in regards to residents of The Strauss Manor Apartments, 370 North Pantano, in Tucson Arizona of smoking cigarettes and being administered oxygen at the same time. This practice endangers the entire Strauss Manor community as well as the person smoking, and shall cease immediately. On 2-12-08, I visited Strauss Manor Apartments to investigate this complaint. After speaking with property rep. Luz Gallego, attempts to speak to each resident who smoked while on oxygen was attempted. It was found in apartment 208, Ms Cheryl Catrano was indeed wearing a nasal canula type oxygen mask and in the ashtray on the living room table was 3 discarded cigarettes. This occupancy has been found in violation of the section 310.2 of the Tucson Fire Code, which states: 310.2 Prohibited areas. Smoking shall be prohibited where conditions are such as to make smoking a hazard, and in spaces where flammable or combustible materials are stored or handled. Future violations of the above may result in litigation.
