Description:

Life Safety Inspection/Complaint. After a referal by Engine 9C regarding a smoke detector that did not function properly during a fire incedent on Jan. 16, 2008, I went to the Croftwood Apartments office. The apt. manager and maintenance supervisor had conducted smoke detector inspections of all 52 apartments in the complex as well as the office and started a log of the inspections. Detectors that were not functioning properly were replaced or repaired and tenants that had tampered with or removed detectors were warned against doing so and advised that doing so in the future would be in violation of their leasing agreement. Detector/battery inspections will be conducted on a monthly basis in the future, with all findings documented.
