09/17/2008 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT DCOX Approved Inspection this morning revealed a large section of ceiling in a bedroom which had fallen due to accumulation of water froma roof leak. Tenant stated he made the property owners wawre of the problem in May, was told the ceiling would be repaired and the roof leak sealed. As of 09-17-08 @ 09:00 no repairs have taken place. The tenant then directed me to the kitchen to explain the stove/oven is malfunctioning. Only 2 of the four burners on the range were operable and the oven did not work as well. In addition the burner ignition system for the range is not working. As a result the tenant must use matches to light the only two functional burners on the range. The interior wall surface of the water heater/furnace closet is deteriorating and needs to be replaced. A notice of violation will be issued for the necessary repairs. A timeline of 15 days will be allowed prior to citation. Follow up 10-10-08.
