STATED HE WAS 15 MINUTES AWAY AND WOULD ARRIVE ON SITE. WALKED EXTERIOR OF STRUCTURE AND FOUND MINIMUM HOUSING CODE VIOLATIONS AS WELL AS TECHNICAL VIOLATIONS. VIOLATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: FIRE SAFETY- SMOKE DETECTOR WAS FOUND CHIRPING, ONSITE DNR INSPECTOR GAVE BATTERY TO OCCUPANT, SMOKE DETECTOR NOW WORKING. HEATING- ROOF TOP FURNACE, APPEARS ORIGINAL GAS FURNACE WAS REMOVED EVICDENCED BY NEW GAS PIPING IN OLD FURNACE CLOSET AND SEALED OFF DUCT RISER. ASKED TENANT IF ROOF TOP FURNACE WAS WORKING, TENANT REPLIED, NO, IT WASN'T, STATED SPACE HEATER HAS BEEN USED FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. CHECKED THERMOSTAT, THERMOSTAT LOOSE AND NOT SECURED TO WALL, WILL REQUIRE HEATING CONTRACTOR TO ACCESS AND SERVICE, ALSO CHECK FOR PERMIT. COOLING- TENANT STATED OWNER PROVIDED POOR SERVICE AND USUALLY HAS TO SERVICE COOLER HIMSELF ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: 1)HAZARDOUS ELECTRICAL, EXPOSED CONDUCTOR NOT IN REQUIRED CONDUIT 2)TRIPLE LUGGING IN DISCONNECT BOX AND ADDITIONAL CIRCUITS ADDED 3)220 DYER CIRCUIT LACKS WEATHER PROOF BOX, 120 CIRCUIT LACKING WEATHER COVER AND EXPOSED CONDUCTOR UNDER 8' NOT IN CONDUIT OPEN GDRS IN KITCHEN AND THROUGH OUT INTERIOR OF STRUCTURE, BEDROOMS 4)FURNANCE CLOSET, HAZARDOUS ELECTRICAL, FUSE BOX LACKING COVER PLATE AND APPEARS TO BE DOUBLE LUGGED. 5)WALL RECEPTICLE LACKS COVER PLATE.
