09/21/2005 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | RVIDAL | Approved | WENT TO SITE AND NO ONE HOME. DID LEAVE A NOTE FOR THE OWNER TO CALL AND WILL WAIT FOR A CALL. GAVE MY CELL PHONE NUMBER AND OFFICE NUMBER ON THE NOTE. DID MEET WITH RICK SALDATE INSPECTOR 2 AND ADVISE THAT I NEEDED TO GET INSIDE THE DWELLING TO CHECK THE INTERIOR STRUCTURE TO MATCH WHAT I SEE OUTSIDE. THE DWELLING HAS LARGE CRACKS AND SHOWS WHERE THE STRUCTURE IS COMPRESSING DOWNWARD AND BULGING IN AREAS. THE ROOF IN THE REAR AND WINDOW ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER HAS SIGNS OF GIVING AND IS VISIBLE BY JUST LOOKING AT IT. THE FRONT HAS AN AREA WHERE IT HAS BEEN PATCHED AND AGAIN IS BULGING OUT. THE FRONT OF THE DWELLING ON THE STUCCO HAS LARGE CRACKS AND APPEARS TO BE FALLING DOWN IN THE CENTER AREAS OF THE DWELLING. THE STRUCTURE HAS BEEN REPAIRED BEFORE AND TRIED TO BE STABILIZED AND HAS CONTINUED TO GIVE. THE BOLTS AND 2 X'S ARE OLD. I DID STATE TO RICK THAT I WOULD TAKE GEROLD GOODMAN TO HAVE A SECOND OPINION WHEN WE GO DO THIS INSPECTION. I DO FEEL BY WHAT I SAW THAT THE OWNER OF THIS PROPERTY NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WHEN KNOCKING ON THE DOOR BEFORE LEAVING, THE DOOR DID OPEN. I YELLED TO SEE IF ANYONE HOME AND GOT NO ANSWER. I DID CLOSE THE DOOR BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCK AND IT DID NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY DUE TO BINDING AT THE TOP OF THE JAMB. THE JAMB HAS SWADE OUT OF PLUMB. WILL WAIT FOR A CALL. |
10/10/2005 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | RVIDAL | Approved | WENT TO SITE WITH RICK SALDATE INSPECTOR 2, GEROLD GOODMAN INSPECTOR 1 AND MET WITH TONY AND JESSICA GASTON TO INSPECT THE DWELLING. JESSICA IS THE OWNER AND TONY THE SON WHO CARES FOR HIS MOTHER. THEY WERE ASKING WHY THE INSPECTION IS HAPPENING AND WERE ADVISED THAT T.P.D. HAD CALLED AND JANET MAJOR FROM A.P.S. DUE TO WORRIED ABOUT THE DWELLING. I ADVISED THAT I HAD DONE AN INSPECTION FROM THE EXTERIOR AND I HAVE CONCERN ON WHAT I SAW FROM THE EXTERIOR. RICK DID TALK TO THE OWNER ABOUT WHAT WE WERE GOING TO DO AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. PICTURES WERE TAKEN. FOUND THAT IN THE LIVING ROOM HAS CRACKS THRU-OUT AND AT FRONT WINDOW HAS SIGNS OF GIVING AT BOTTOM PORTION WHICH IS ADOBE. THE INTERIOR WALLS ARE FRAME AND LATH WITH PLASTER. THE BEDROOM WHERE SHE SLEEPS AT FRONT NEXT TO THE LIVING ROOM HAS SOME CRACKS ON THE WALLS. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE BEST ROOM CONDITION WISE. THESE ROOMS ARE CLUTTERED AS ALL OTHER ROOMS ARE THRU-OUT THE DWELLING. THE WINDOWS DO WORK FOR EXITING IN THE OWNER BEDROOM. THE KITCHEN IS GIVING AT THE REAR SECTION OF THE WALL AND SINK IS UNABLE TO USE. THE WINDOW IS BOARDED UP AND UNABLE TO USE. THE WINDOW IS SLANTED WHERE THE WALL IS GIVING. YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE DAYLIGHT THRU THE WALL TO THE OUTSIDE FROM THE INSIDE. THE REAR DOOR IS UNABLE TO USE DUE BEING DILAPIDATED. THIS DOOR IS FALLING APART. THE BACK ROOM SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN A PORCH AND FRAMED IN. THIS IS WHERE THE BATHROOM IS LOCATED AND HARD TO GET TO. THIS ROOM IS FILLED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM WITH BOXES AND CLOTHING. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE BATHROOM YOU HAVE TO GO SIDE WAYS IN A PATH AND HAS SOME EXTENSION CORDS IN IT. THESE CORDS GO TO OTHER CORDS AND OUTSIDE. THE BATHROOM HAS PLASTERING FALLING, THE TIOLET IS LOOSE, THE TUB IS LEANING WHERE THE FLOOR IS GIVING. THE ELECTRICAL IS ON EXTENSION CORD TO LIGHTING AND PLUGS AT SINK AREA. THE LIGHT IS ON APPLAINANCE CORD AND HAS FRAYED WIRING. THE DOOR IS HARD TO CLOSE. THE ROOM THAT WAS A PORCH HAS PLYWOOD ALL AROUND IT BUT IS FALLING AND AREA IS NOT SECURED. THIS ROOM IS ONLY USED FOR STORAGE OTHER THAN THE BATHROOM WHICH IS AT THE REAR. WHERE THE PLASTER EXIST ON THE BACK ROOM, IT IS CRACKING OR HAS FALLEN. THE CEILING IS OPEN BEAM AND UNABLE TO GET TO THE WALLS. THE DOOR BETWEEN THE KITCHEN AND THE REAR PORCH IS ALSO FALLING AND HAS TO BE PICKED UP IN ORDER TO MOVE. WHERE THE AREAS OF CONCERN FROM THE EXTERIOR ALSO HAVE CONCERN ON THE INTERIOR. I WILL BE CALLING THE OWNER'S DAUGHTER ON WHAT WE SAW IN THIS INSPECTION. IT'S APPEARS THAT WE NEED TO START SHUTTING DOWN THIS DWELLING. |
