01/14/2004 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT JCRAIG Correction Required AT SITE I MET TENANTS OF UNIT E-1, I WAS UNABLE TO WALK UP TO THE DOOR DUE TO TENANTS STORAGE OUT THE FRONT DOOR, NOTE TENANT IS ALSO BLOCKING DOOR TO UNIT E. I DID SEE THAT THE FRONT DOOR TO UNIT E-1 WAS BUSTED BY SOME TYPE OF FORCE, THE TENANT DID ANSWER THE DOOR , BUT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN DUE TOO STORAGE AGAINST THE DOOR ON THE INSIDE OF THE UNIT, I WAITED A FEW MIN. FOR THE TENANT TO REMOVE ITEMS SO I COULD ENTER THE UNIT. I ASK THE TENANT IF THEY WERE MOVING AND THEY STATED YES AND THATS WHY THE BOXES WERE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR, I DID ASK TENANTS NOT TO SORE ITEMS IN OR IN FRONT OF DOOR , THIS BLOCKS TOTAL EGRESS IN CASE OF FIRE, TENANTS UNDERSTOOD. I REVIEWED THE INSIDE AND FOUND THE TWO ROOM STUDIO FILLED WITH PERSONAL BELONGINGS IN BOTH ROOMS, THE LIVING ROOM/ BEDROOM HAD VERY LITTLE OR NO EGRESS FOR WALKING, THE KITCHEN WAS FOUND TO HAVE A MINOR PATH TO WALK TO THE BATHROOM, THE UNIT BATHROOM DOES WORK IN A NORMAL FASHION, THE UNIT DOES HAVE THE REQUIRED SMOKE ALARMS, THE UNIT HAS THE REQUIRED SINK FOR THE UNIT IN THE KITCHEN. THE TENANTS HAD CREATED A EGRESS HAZARD AT THIS UNIT. AND A NOTICE AND ORDER WILL FOLLOW TO THE OWNER TO HAVE THE TENANTS REMOVE AND CLEAR EGRESS INSIDE UNIT.
