06/19/2003 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT JHURD Correction Required 6/18/03, VISITED SITE, TOOK PICTURES, MET WITH RESIDENTS SARAH AND ARNIE, THEY HAD SHOWED WHERE THEY HAVE TO PLUG IN COOLER PUMP WITH EXTENSION CORD FROM CONVENIENCE OUTLET IN KITCHEN, WENT AND LOOKED OVER COOLER SITUTITION AND ALSO FOUND THAT THE ONLY THING IS A REGULAR CONVENIENCE OUTLET, NOT WEATHERPROOFED BOX, ON EITHER SIDE OF DUPLEX BOTH NEED REPAIR, ALSO FOUND THAT RESIDENTS ARE USING A WASHING MACHINE PLUGGING INTO KITCHEN OUTLET, AND ALSO DRAINING ON TO GROUND, I EXPLAINED THIS CAN NOT HAPPEN RESIDENT STATED THEY WOULD DISCONNECT WASHER, THERE ARE SEVERAL OUTLETS THROUGH UNIT MISSING COVER PLATES I ASKED ABOUT THEM AND RESIDENT STATED THAT THEY TOOK OFF TO PAINT AND DOES HAVE AND WILL REINSTALL. TESTED OUTLETS AND KITCHEN SHOWS GOOD BUT L/R AND BEDROOMS SHOW OPEN GROUND AND BATH HAS CONVENIENCE OUTLET IN LIGHT FIXTURE NOT GFCI PROTECTED AND LOOKS BURNT. BATH ALSO HAS EXPOSED ELECTRICAL WIRING FROM WHERE A HEATER HAS BEEN REMOVED, UNIT DID NOT HAVE ANY SMOKE DETECTORS I EXPLAINED TO RESIDENTS HOW IMPORTANT THEY WERE FOR SAFETY FOR THEM AND CHILDREN AND THEY WENT TO ACE AND BOUGHT SMOKE DETECTORS AND WILL INSTALL TODAY. OWNER IS IN ANOTHER STATE RIGHT NOW ON VACATION, I CALLED HIS HOME NUMBER AND LEFT NUMBER FOR CALL BACK N.O. TO BE SENT.

CLOSE CASE, COMPLIANCE.
