| 12/02/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | Arrived on scene with Inspector Metelov at 7:35PM. TFD, Southwest Gas, TEP were already on scene. A fire in the rear of 1517 ignited the main structure and caused significant damage to the rear and inside of the property. TFD cut a hole in the roof of 1517 to prevent damage from spreading to neighboring units; they are unaware of any possible spread of fire to the abutting unit. Fire Investigators indicated to us that they believe the fire was caused by a solar system connected to lithium ion batteries in the rear of the structure. Once the fire was extinguished, water was isolated in the affected unit, preserving the water use for abutting units. SW Gas indicated they intend to remove the riser until further notice but did not identify any immediate threat to health or safety. Per TEP crews, there was a blown fuse in the transformer. The feeder wire from the junction box at the rear of the unit to the meter was melted. Power will be left disconnected at this junction box. The owners were on site for the duration of the ordeal. SW gas removed the meter and TEP restored power to all adjacent units. No breakers were tripped at the abutting units upon power restoration and Damian boarded up 1517 at 9:15PM. One 6x4 window was boarded Two 3x7 doors pinned |
