Arrived and was still an active fire and was checking for hot spots. The fire investigators were just getting on site to check for cause. The owner was not on site. The fire was in the southwest bedroom and burned into the hallway. The other rooms have heavy smoke damage through out. The electrical and the gas were removed at the meters due to the amount of damage. The fire damage was broken windows in the bedroom and the bathroom, burned doors in the closets and the hallway to the bedrooms. The bedroom has the ceiling drywall pulled down to check for fire in the attic area. The wood framing appears to be OK but will need to be checked when the drywall is removed due to be burned. The outlets and the ceiling light with switches will need to all be check for fire damage. The window in the southeast bedroom has broken glass. The windows are vinyl frames and will need to all be check for heat damage. The flooring has puddled water through out from fighting the fire. The owner did show and gave permission to have the house secured once the investigation is completed. Called Arcaiden Industries to the property to have the property secured. The owner signed the paperwork on site. The dogs were taken by the family members. The metal roof covering was removed over the bedroom due to the sheathing was smoking. The exterior walls are double red brick and has a wood frame porch in the rear of the house with no damage. Has 2-storage rooms with the porch that also has no damage. The owner was able to lock the other doors and the windows that were not damaged. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window. RV. |
