| 11/04/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | On November 2, 2025, at approximately 6:40 AM, I arrived on scene with Inspector Metelov in response to a reported structure fire at the above location. Upon arrival, personnel from the Tucson Fire Department (TFD), Tucson Electric Power (TEP), and Southwest Gas were already on site. We made contact with TFD personnel, who reported that the cause of the fire had not yet been definitively determined; however, electrical, chemical, and gas sources had been ruled out. Based on evidence observed at the scene, including remnants of small campfires in adjacent and nearby structures, TFD indicated that the fire was most likely caused by transient activity occurring on or near the property. The primary structure sustained extensive fire damage. Due to the all-metal construction, the roof collapsed inward under extreme heat, bending and warping the exterior walls as the metal frame deteriorated. Electrical systems within the structure appeared to have been partially or completely stripped prior to the fire, with exposed wiring visible among the debris. Secondary structures on the property showed advanced deterioration, with missing windows and doors, unsecured openings, and visible signs of long-term neglect. The overall condition of the property was found to be unsafe and structurally compromised. Multiple hazards were identified during the inspection. The collapsed roof and heat damage caused significant structural instability, creating a high risk of further collapse. Exposed and stripped electrical wiring presented potential electrical hazards should service be restored. Scattered debris, including charred materials and sharp metal fragments, created additional safety risks to personnel and unauthorized individuals. The property remained open and unsecured, increasing the likelihood of trespassing, continued transient activity, and potential fire recurrence. TFD concluded their investigation and cleared the scene at approximately 7:20 AM. |
