11/30/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Knocked at the front door. No answer. Bee hive located under the white shed located in the north west corner of the property lot. Completed an nov and placed on the front door 24 hours to remove bee hive. Owner called stated she would not be removing the hive because she has already removed it several times and refuses to remove the hive. Let the owner know if we remove it. She will get the bill and a citation. Owner states she won't be removing the hive.
12/04/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up Completed Bees not removed. Megan McCaffery Pima Council for Aging called regarding the bees. Organization is going to assist the owner in paying for the cost of bee removal by covering her bills. $500 to cover for her mortgage $800 to cover her TEP bill $ 27 to cover her South West Gas bill $800 gift card to FRY's grocery store. Now she will have the money to pay for the bee removal. Bee Master Rep called. He found 3 bee hives underneath the shed. One on the east, west and in the center of the shed. Stated he knocked at the door several times and the owner isn't answering the door. Contacted the owner and made her aware of the vendor outside and needs to discuss the bees underneath the shed. Owner seems reluctant to answer the door or to try working with the vendor in removing the bees. Indicating the cost is going to be way too much. I did let the owner know at this time I was aware of the financial assistance she got in order to pay for the bee removal. Owner annoyed that I knew this information. She finally opened the door and worked with the vendor to have the bees removed. Verified the area was treated. Close case.
