This vacant and partially demolished building continues to harbor trespassers and persons to commit unlawful acts. The chain link fence surrounding this vacant building is damaged. There is trash and debris scattered on the property. There is graffiti marked on the property’s structures. The building addressed 3200 N. 1st Ave has been boarded since May 2024 and will be boarded for 180 days on November 12th, 2024. This building formally a restaurant has cut wood members that lack of a protective treatment. There are other wood members that are deteriorated and have signs of damage. The utility infrastructure such as plumbing and electrical are damaged and not in good state of repair. The active business address 3202 N. 1st Ave has non code compliant wiring illuminating multiple of their business signs “smoke shop” “Vape etc” “smoke shop 24/7” at the three walls of the business. These signs do not match the last permitted signs from 2020 permit number T20ot00078. There are multiple business signs displayed on their store fronts windows and doors without any permits or approvals. At the roof top of this same business there are portable laminar work lights that are not typically used for building lighting and other lighting fixtures installed without permits or approvals from the City of Tucson. | |
| 10/03/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up | In Violation | (3202 N. 1st Ave) After reviewing all photos and videos of roof top inspection it has been determined the power is necessary to be terminated until all non-code complaint violations are corrected by a licensed contractor with applicable permits. Manager onsite with business owner on photo, explained circumstances and the need to obtain permits. They have been notified to keep vacant and secured. There was a person at the 3200 N. 1st Ave roof top stripping components from AC units (coils), he stated was told by the owner to do so. Smoke shop business manager confirmed he is the owner’s worker and was told to be there. TEP has been notified to disconnect power, posted unfit to occupy placards on the building. Tucson Police on site during interaction and during disconnection of the power. |
