10/25/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were clearing and the fire investigators were on site checking for cause. Had a pressure cooker on the stove and it started on fire. The fire was contained to the kitchen area where some wooden shelves burned over the stove and the drywall was pulled down to check for fire in the ceiling space and the walls. Has light smoke damage on the walls and ceilings in the other rooms. The window in the front room is broken. The tenant left the site and did not come back. The manager came to the site to sign the paperwork. Did call the owner and he was going to call the manager to go to the site. The electrical was removed at the pole due to had dogs in the rear yard and not able to enter. The gas meter was pinned and pass the line and survey test and can be turned back on when the electrical turned back on. There is some romex wiring in the ceiling where the drywall was pulled down and will need to be checked for heat or fire damage. Did the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window. The manager will secure the unit once done on checking the damage. RV.
10/26/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up Passed The unit is vacant and secured and the owner will be working with the insurance company on getting the repairs completed. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
