| 09/02/2026 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | Arrived on scene at 917 AM and found that firefighting activities are now complete. There is a large, approximately 80' x 60' metal canopy like structure with sheet metal walls on the east and west sides at the northeast portion of the parcel which lacked a fire suppression system. The fire was within this structure and burned trash or recycling materials. There is evident smoke and burn marks on the sheet metal walls on both sides and there is heavy damage to the sheet metal on the east side of the structure. The metal beams that support the structure along the east wall of this structure are warped, bent, and otherwise damaged, likely due to the heat of the fire. At this time, there is no sagging of the roof or other signs the structure may collapse. There is electrical and mechanical equipment in the floor of the structure which is now covered in water and likely sustained water damage. This south side of this structure abuts the north end of a much larger similar type structure which is equipped with fire sprinklers. The fire sprinklers activated and appear to have prevented the fire from spreading to this area. Electrical is off at the main disconnect. A licensed electrician shall isolate the damaged electrical before restoring service. A structural engineer shall review the damage to the fire damaged structure and determine what repairs are required. All repairs are to be made by a licensed contractor with an Issued permit within 60 days. -VM |
