| 08/29/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | Completed | On site at property with TFD, Southwest Gas, and tenants. There was a small fire in the kitchen area. Upon arrival, visible damage was observed throughout the kitchen, indicating that while the fire was contained, it produced significant heat, smoke, and soot that affected multiple surfaces. The area of origin appears to be the wall space behind or directly above where a kitchen appliance. The wall in this area shows clear evidence of burn damage, with heavy charring, blackened residue, and streaks of melted material extending both vertically and into the surrounding cabinetry. The underside of the upper kitchen cabinets directly above the burn site is scorched, and the cabinet interior has visible smoke and heat damage. Heavy smoke damage is also present on the ceiling above the kitchen cabinets. Soot accumulation is visible along the ceiling and upper walls, indicating that smoke rose quickly and lingered in the upper portion of the room. The fire appears to have generated enough heat to create dark burn patterns, with some possible structural weakening to the wallboard or ceiling finish. There appears there was not excessive structural damage or electrical damage. Southwest Gas stated they turned on the Gas back on and there were no obvious gas damage signs and that they had been out there a few times in past months. TFD placed electrical tape where the one open bare-electrical wire was. Sent notice of violation to the owner for the repairs done by the fire. |
