| 08/16/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | On site at property with owners. On arrival, TFD, was not there. A large tree in the rear of the dwelling, fell on the south side of the structuring, impacting the structure's rear wall. There appears to be excessive wall damage. A large mature tree fell onto the rear side of the structure causing significant structural and property damage. On the exterior, the tree was completely uprooted possibly meaning, great impact to the house. The trunk and branches fell directly on the roof and rear exterior wall, causing, cracking and displacement of stucco walls. Potential compromise of roof structure, especially where the tree directly contacts the roof. Cracked exterior stucco walls and window frames suggest structural shifting. For the interior Structural Damage, there is wall and ceiling cracking. Interior walls and ceilings show significant cracks, especially at corners and joints. This indicates structural stress likely caused by the tree’s impact. It appears there is some window and door damage. Rear glass doors and windows appear bowed or cracked, and some are visibly under tension or pressure from the tree trunk. The tree fell did not impact the gas meter, but was close to it. No visible break is apparent. Caution taped the interior the rear door and the exterior damages around the fallen tree. Power to remain off in the rear rooms. Owner signed documents. Condemnation. Recommend a licensed structural engineer. Permits required. | |
