08/20/2024 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation A large eucalyptus tree fell on the west side of Building 2. The tree hit the west side of the building and caused damage to stucco. Did access the roof. Two large branches fell onto the roof. Did not observe any penetrations or damage to the roof. The tree uprooted TEP service lines and caused the transformer serving Buildings 1 and 2 damage and was taken out of service. The electric panel box on the north side of Building 2 before the individual meters serving units 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 211, 212, 213, 214 and 215 was damaged and placed out of service due to the underground lines pulled down and damaged the connections, conductors were melted. Box will need repair or replacement under Permit. Units 210, 218 and 220 on the south side of Building 2 reported smoke consistent with electrical fires inside the units. I did observe moderate smoke in the area of the kitchen in Unit 218. No other units reported smoke or was unable to make contact. The electric panel box serving the south side of the building had no physical damage but the neutral line had burns. Units 201-205 and 211-215 were condemned and posted unsafe to occupy due to no electricity. Property manager on site did sign the EAOV and NAO. Property manager called an electrician on site to review the electrical system on the south side of the building. Electrician checked all units on south side of Building 2 and recommended re-energizing all units on south side of building. TEP did restore power to Building 1 and south half of Building 2.
