| 08/25/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | 1247 pm - Responded to property, per contact with TFD Fire Investigator on site: fire occurred in a classroom and caused damage to the classroom, spread through the attic, there is an HVAC system damaged, and smoke damage throughout the entire building. Damage to structural members of the roof system in the classroom and holes into the roof. Holes cut into ceiling at rear of bldg and ceiling tiles removed to check for fire. Water heater room sustained fire damage. TEP had already cut power. Southwest gas arrived on site and pinned the gas meter off. Owner was contacted and responded to the site. The structure is a vacant former school and has been broken into multiple times. Owner states they had previously secured the structure but he said a set of keys was recently stolen from inside of the structure and a camera system and wiring had been removed from the building. Owner stated they would be securing the structure and signed the indemnification form and the notice of violation emergency abatement and order to vacate. Permits required for repairs. -VM | |
