| 07/20/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | Passed | VISITED SITE, MET WITH OCCUPANT WHO ALLOWED ENTRY INTO THE APARTMENT AND I FOUND A SMALL A/C UNIT HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN THE BEDROOM REPLACING THE PRIOR OLD UNIT, THE UNIT INSTALLED WAS RATED TO ONLY COOL 150 SQ FT AND THE UNIT IS 550 SQ FT. OCCUPANT HAS A REGULAR FAN IN THE UNIT AND A LARGER, NICER FAN PROVIDED BY THE MANAGEMENT. SO THE UNIT IS PRESENTLY BEING COOLED. WE DID CONTACT THE MANAGER AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE WITH THE SMALLER WALL A/C UNIT. I INFORMED HER IT WAS NOT THE PROPER SIZE UNIT AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH A UNIT THAT WOULD COOL A APARTMENT OF A MINIMUM SIZE 550 SQ FT. A NOV WAS ISSUED TO REPLACE THE SMALLER UNIT WITH A UNIT BIG ENOUGH TO COOL 550 SQ FT APT UNIT. I LEFT THE COMPLEX AND THEN HAND DELIVERED THE FIELD NOV TO THE MANAGER SO THAT BOTH THE OCCUPANT AND THE MANAGER HAVE A COPY OF THE NOV. I WAS LATER CONTACTED MY MANAGER STATING OCCUPANT HAS BEEN LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES THAT MAINTANENCE WILL BE IN ON FRIDAY TO REPLACE THE UNIT. THE CORRECT UNIT HAS BEEN OBTAINED. I TRIED CONTACTING THE OCCUPANT BUT PHONE WENT DIRECTLY TO MAIL. I CONTACTED THE MANAGER AND TOLD HER TO PLACE A LETTER ON THE DOOR FOR A 24 HOUR NOTICE TO REPLACE THE A/C UNIT. |
