A fire sprinkler in the area of the 10th or 11th floor activated and put the fire out. Checked trash chute room on all floors and damage if any is listed: 17th floor - No damage 16th floor - No damage 15th floor - No damage 14th floor - No damage 13th floor - No damage 12th floor - Minor smoke damage, fire debris on floor 11th floor - Minor smoke damage on wall, trash chute has minor damage, fire debris on floor 10th floor - Minor smoke damage on wall, water running through trash chute, very small amount of water on floor 9th floor - Minor amount of water on the floor coming out of trash chute, no other damage 8th floor - Minor amount of water on the floor coming out of trash chute, no other damage 7th floor - Minor amount of water on the floor coming out of trash chute, no other damage 6th floor - Minor amount of water on the floor coming out of trash chute, no other damage 5th floor - No damage 4th floor - No damage 3rd floor - No damage 2nd floor - Small amount of water on floor coming out of trash chute, water is dripping through split area in ceiling where bricks meet. Damage to trash chute 1st floor - Water on floor. Site where flames were observed by a resident and an extinguisher was used. There is no smoke damage or water damage visible. The room is very humid and there is condensation on the surface of the ceiling. No water in the light fixture. Basement - No damage. Water is draining the trash chute into the trash compactor. This area is outside and subject to water during rain events. Fire watch was established. There was no structural damage observed. Code Enforcement took no action and case will be closed. -VM |
