| 05/21/2025 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | 216 PM - Arrived and found TPD and Animal Control on scene. From the front door, can view feces piled up on the floor inside the apartment. There is a very strong odor of filth coming from the front door. Did enter unit, found a cracked and damaged outlet cover on an electrical outlet next to the front door. Living room has piles of dead flies on the floor and feces scattered throughout the floor. There is an accumulation of animal waste in a full litter box in the living room. In the living area, found surge protectors and extension cords appear to be used in lieu of permanent wiring. One of the surge protectors appears to have duct tape covering an outlet. There is unsanitary conditions in the kitchen. There is a very large quantity of dead flies on the floor in front of the rear door, and live flies are swarming the kitchen. Property manager is on site, and turned power off at the main disconnect to prevent any potential hazards. Did place a City padlock on electric panel. Will need to 1. Replace the outlet cover and 2. Remove all extension cords and then call to have padlock removed. The unit is Red Tagged and Condemned, Unsafe to Occupy. Unit needs to be cleaned and then can be called in for reinspection to lift condemnation. -VM | |
