03/26/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial Passed Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a broken water line at the boiler room area. Arrived and the fire units still on site trying to get the water off. The water has 2-back flows one was turned off and still had water coming out. Turned the second back flow off and the water slowed down on the pressure and finally stop dripping. The electrical was being turned off to the effected areas where the water is dripping from the second floor to the first floor. Have a electrician coming to the site due to a door is locked where the panel to turned the breakers off and don't have keys on site. The plumber is on his way to check the fitting that is leaking. The fitting is a 4" steel pipe with a shut off valve and leaking at the flange where appears to have been welded. The pipe insulation is wet and falling in some areas due to soaked or the moisture in the area of hot water coming out. Has sweat dripping on all the ceiling, trusses, conduits, ductwork in a hallway where the leak was located due to the water was hot. The boilers have been turned off at emergency shut off at this time. Having issues with the fire alarm and will be check on Monday and the T.F.D. was on site to check the system. Had no key to enter the building in the fire box due to the locks were just changed and did a forced entry and the lock on the door was damaged and needs to be replaced. The building will be secured once the extraction has been done and the plumber and the electrician come and check the damage. RV.
03/27/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up In Violation Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a water flow issue. This call was called in on Sunday and called the president of the YMCA and he was sending someone to the site. I did advise that I was also on my way. Arrived and the fire units were leaving the site. There was no water flow issue on the property and the fire panel was setting the alarm off. All was checked on the previous water leak and was not leaking, checked the sprinkler heads and no sprinkler heads were running. The fire panel was turned off at this time due to the building is not occupied at this time. Did meet with the person working on the fire panel and they are in the process of moving to a newer panel to a different location and have not switched yet. The panel will be checked tomorrow on trying to be reset to open for business. The water is still off at the backflows. The address came in as 222 N. Church Ave. and that building will be check due to it's a different building in the same area. The workers will check the building and secure once they are done checking the buildings on the property. RV. 3-31-23 Checked the site and the fittings have been changed to expansion fittings and the motors pumps have been braced. The fire panel has been reset and moved to the new location. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
